Dear Miss U,
Well… I am young. To be 17 and be in an LDR, some people would find stupid or funny. But for me, it just feels right when I get to talk with her. Now, the problem. Myself, and her, both have a surprisingly similar past, with same problems with family and rape and whatnot, but even through all that, I simply don’t know what I can do for her to help… [read more]
Begging For Contact
Dear Miss U,
I’ve known my girlfriend for well over a year, but through bumps, bruises, a falling out when I moved to a full-time job and then a re-kindled connection, we became attached at the hip. She’s in California and I’m in Melbourne, Australia – quite the distance… [read more]
Plan It!
Dear Miss U,
My SO and I have been in an official relationship for a little over 6 months now, but have known each other pretty well as friends since the beginning of high school. He recently just moved away to pursue his dream job and our friends and family keep asking me how he and I are going to make our relationship work. I’m worried that my answer is almost always “I don’t know.” [read more]
Not So Asexual
Dear Miss U,
After 6 months in a LDR, why does she refuse to send even ONE photo ? Her name is Linda, we have known each other since 2003. I live in Oregon, she lives in southern California. Linda dated my younger brother until their breakup in 2009. I went through a divorce in 2009 .We kept in touch and occasionally would text each other purely in a platonic way… [read more]
International Reality
Dear Miss U,
My boyfriend and I met via social media so we have never actually lived in the same place. He’s currently in USA whilst I’m still here in England. We fly out to see each other every couple of months and as his mum is English, he will be coming here for the summer. I am completely in love with him… [read more]
One True Love?
Dear Miss U,
My name is Dominic, and I’m a freshman college student. My boyfriend, Christian, goes to law school roughly four hours from my college. We dated relatively short distance (40 minute drive) for the first six months of our relationship before I began college and Christian law school. Due to these circumstances, we see each other about once a month, typically for a few days at a time. I recently saw him for about a week, and am about to return to school… [read more]
Concerned & Confused
Dear Miss U,
I never thought I’d be writing to you as up until this point my relationship has been great, we’ve done good with the distance with of course a few bumps here and there. My reasoning for writing is because after talking to a friend I’m questioning my boyfriend’s commitment to this relationship.
Nobody’s Business
Dear Miss U,
My best friend asked me the other day; “how do you feel that you’re in a relationship with your boyfriend if you never see him?” (I see him 3-4 times a year for about one week each time). I told her that it’s like having a boy best friend but a little more intimate. She responded that basically we only have a “status” and not a real relationship. Is she right? I mean, am I really in a long distance relationship or am I only best friend with this guy?
