that is romantic in itself.
Based on my personal experience, love letters have a power that email simply can’t match.
They can bring a smile before they’re even opened. A handwritten “I’m sorry” carries more weight than one said over the phone. And saying “I love you” in ink feels more heartfelt than typing it on a screen. When you’re feeling unsure or questioning why you agreed to this long distance relationship, reading an old love letter can remind you of your connection and commitment.
I want to help bring back love letters
to a generation that’s forgotten the art of writing.
Taking a few minutes to write a letter is one of the simplest and most meaningful ways to make your partner feel loved. It’s a simple yet powerful gesture that can brighten their day and strengthen your bond, no matter how far apart you are.
Free LDR Stationery
Back in December 2009, I held a long distance relationship themed stationery contest. You can download the top 8 entries for free here. Envelopes included!
Love Letter Satchels
After realizing my own love letters deserved more than just a storage box, I created a “Love Letter Satchel” in 2010. These custom satchels are a beautiful way to keep your love letters organized and safe. They make for a great gift for couples in long distance relationships who cherish sentimental keepsakes.
Love Letter Day
The 10th of every month on Loving From A Distance is Love Letter Day I created this site-wide day to inspire others to get out a pen and paper and write to their loved ones.
To create a little extra motivation, I also created a Love Letter Ideas section on our forum so others can share and get ideas for what to do for their next love letters.
The “Love Letter Day” Mark
In the bottom left-hand corner of your envelope, draw a small heart. Maybe one day, Love Letter Day letters in the mail will get noticed! 😀
Love Letter Online Gallery
To further encourage couples to express their feelings through letters, I’ve created a Love Letter Gallery . This gallery is a place where people can share their love letters and inspire others. If you’d like to contribute, visit the gallery and submit your letter to be featured.
Not all love letters have to be mushy
Love letters don’t always have to be overly romantic. They can be playful, silly, or heartfelt in different ways. You can tell a story, share a funny anecdote, offer a recipe, or even talk about your day. The key is to write from the heart and share something meaningful with your partner.
